About the Role
Job SummaryThe General Surgery Fellow plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of an effective clinical service.
Key responsibilities include daily care of acute surgical patients, emergency operating theatre operations, and supervising junior doctors and trainees.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), a commitment to ongoing educational activities, sound theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical behaviour are essential for this position.
- Strong interpersonal skills required for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Hold (or be eligible for) Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or recognised equivalent.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Specialist Registration in General Surgery with the Medical Board of Australia is also required.
