Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of strategic urban planning documents, shaping the built environment to promote livability, sustainability and aesthetic appeal.
- Develop comprehensive urban design frameworks, master plans, public realm strategies and policies to drive community engagement and economic growth.
- Create and apply design and character guidelines for private and public development proposals, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Review and update policies on activity centers, structure plans and mobility strategies to ensure alignment with local government goals.
- Collaborate with other relevant staff in the design and delivery of civic improvement projects for activity areas, driving positive change through effective urban planning.
- Provide expert design critique and directions for public realm and other council projects, elevating community spaces and enhancing the overall living experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Urban Design or equivalent, combined with strong industry experience within state or local government.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other industry software applications such as AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite.
