Job Overview:

This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of network and optical equipment, as well as coordinating customer services by managing fibre patching activities.

The position will also involve collaborating with carrier partners to establish and maintain their presence at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • ">
  • Monitoring and performing ongoing maintenance on fibre optic and network equipment">
  • Coordinating and assisting customers with fault finding activities">
  • Performing preventative maintenance and serving as a Subject Matter Expert">
  • Providing expert data centre connectivity advice to internal and external stakeholders">
  • Maintaining and updating network topology information as required">
  • Responding to alarms and alerts generated from monitoring tools">
  • Logging and maintaining asset and configuration management information relating to Data Centre networking equipment">
  • Building and maintaining relationships with carriers and vendors">
  • Working independently and as part of a team, across multiple regions">
  • Mentoring and imparting knowledge to other team members">
  • Contributing to team and stakeholder meetings and committees as required">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

- Minimum 2-3 years' experience working within Data Centres or with Commercial Carriers

">

- Fibre cabling experience

">

- Experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies

">

- Documentation and compliance skills

">

- Experience working with ITIL

">

- Industry-related networking or cabling certifications desirable

">
