Housing Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional housing services to our clients.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating client intake, setting up housing plans, and providing weekly 3.5-hour service engagement to seek appropriate housing. You will also attend to high-profile clients and severe complex cases searching for private rental, community housing, or short-term accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate client intake and setup housing plans
  • Provide weekly 3.5-hour service engagement to seek appropriate housing
  • Attend to high-profile clients and severe complex cases
  • Organize weekly private property searches and book inspection appointments
  • Connect with clients via regular calls and send confirmation messages for inspection bookings, lease approvals, and other communications
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to sustain tenancies
  • Deal with people who have experienced homelessness and complex clients with challenging needs
  • Manage disputes, complaints, and breaches in accordance with relevant laws and policies

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary or diploma qualifications in a Health or Human Service-related field
  • Customer service skills and problem-solving capability, particularly in customer relations and building organizational capability within a disability service framework
  • Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to new systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health, autism, and disability service standards
  • A good understanding and knowledge of customer relations and NDIS frameworks, as well as the ability to build and manage relationships with customers/participants and their employees
