Key Role:
Principal Policy OfficerThe Department of Education seeks a highly skilled professional to lead policy development and implementation in relation to student-to-student bullying.
- Develop effective strategies for bullying prevention and education, prioritizing the needs of First Nations students and other diverse student groups.
- Liaise with Indigenous communities, schools, and stakeholders to design resources and information that improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Conduct ongoing research and analysis of contemporary education issues impacting students.
- Maintain liaison and communication with key personnel in schools, regions, and systems to develop coordinated implementation strategies.
- Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, and reports on bullying-related issues.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A proven ability to work with Indigenous communities across various settings.
- High-level written and oral communication skills.
- A strong understanding of software for data collation and extraction.
- An ability to think strategically and present solutions to complex issues.
- Demonstrated critical analysis skills.
- Experience working on complex projects within set timeframes.
