HSE Specialist Job Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to provide governance and assurance for Health, Safety and Environment by auditing against Group documents, applicable legislation and investigation outcomes to meet internal and external HSE compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit sites against Group documents, site documents and legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake desktop audits at a corporate level – whole of system auditing to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct audits of investigation actions to verify effectiveness.
  • Provide assurance to stakeholders on governance and auditing to validate compliance.
  • Develop and disseminate HSE performance reports to inform the workforce and management decisions.
  • Produce accurate data reports to inform business direction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in Health, Safety or Environment are essential.
  • A formal auditing qualification such as Lead Auditor is required.
  • Operational risk management knowledge and application are necessary.
  • The ability to travel to various and remote locations is crucial.
  • Previous experience auditing HSE systems and programs is preferred.
  • Operational experience in mining or heavy industry is beneficial.
