Strategic Policy Development Officer Role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the implementation of recommendations from a royal commission into national natural disaster arrangements.

This involves leading cross-agency collaboration, providing high-level policy advice, and developing strategic plans and policies in support of government objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing submissions and briefings for cabinet and other stakeholders
  • Reviewing policy and identifying potential risks and issues
  • Liaising with government representatives to support project deliverables

Skills and qualifications required include knowledge and/or experience in developing strategic plans and policy documents, as well as knowledge of disaster management and emergency services.

Leadership competencies assessed include vision, results, accountability, and fostering healthy and inclusive workplaces.
