About the role

Based in Newcastle, working a 9-day fortnight with day and afternoon shift rotation and occasional overtime, this challenging opportunity will provide variety in both high-volume work and jobbing operations.

The role will present you with opportunities to:

  • Execute CNC Machining including programming and operating a range of machinery, including multi-axis lathes and machining centers
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in machining special steels
  • Identify and implement improvements
  • Provide feedback via maintenance management systems
  • Learn about safety management

You will also need to:

  • Hold a relevant mechanical trade qualification or be currently completing an apprenticeship
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and understand G-Code
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Have experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Fagor Controls is highly desirable
  • Utilize or work towards proficiency in CADCAM systems is highly desirable
