About the role

Based in Newcastle, you will work a 9-day fortnight with day and afternoon shift rotation and occasional overtime. The position will challenge you to think outside the square with both high-volume work and jobbing work providing plenty of variety.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Executing CNC Machining including programming and operating a range of machinery including multi-axis lathes and machining centres
  • Building your skill and knowledge in machining special steels
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Providing feedback via the maintenance management systems
  • Learng about safety management

You will also need to:

  • Hold relevant mechanical trade qualification or be currently completing your apprenticeship
  • Demonstrate an ability to read and understand G-Code
  • Demonstrate an ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Have experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Fagor Controls is highly desirable
  • Utilise or working towards proficiency in CADCAM systems is highly desirable
