About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at GoPro, Inc. This is a full-time opportunity based in Sydney with flexible work arrangements.

Job Description

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for our camera products, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development, including design validation, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as design specifications, test plans, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA) reports.
  • Utilize CAD tools, such as Siemens NX, to create 3D models and simulations, and ensure designs meet geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners, including suppliers and ODM/JDM partners, to ensure seamless product development and delivery.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in consumer electronics.
  • Expertise in CAD modeling, FEA, and tolerance analysis, with proficiency in utilizing industry-standard tools.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, assembly, and reliability principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, generous leave entitlements, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
