Job Title: Senior Financial Strategist

The Chief Financial Officer plays a pivotal role in providing strategic direction to senior management, focusing on maximizing profits and driving business growth.

  • Develop company financial objectives and strategies with the VP, General Manager APAC;
  • Review and approve operating budgets, conducting financial reviews to monitor performance;
  • Forecast financial results and gross margin on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis;
  • Provide expense and gross margin analysis, driving corrective actions and improvements;
  • Ensure accurate accounting practices based on corporate policies and legal requirements;
  • Participate in operating review meetings, providing direction and decision-making as appropriate;
  • Develop and train staff in sales, markdowns, shrink, and discounts;
  • Execute decisions based on Sarbanes Oxley's impact on internal controls;
  • Minimize company exposure through effective risk management and loss prevention;
  • Oversee all aspects of Finance, including Payroll, Payroll Accounting, G/L, Tax, and Statutory Accounting;
  • Provide specific direction and leadership to the finance team;
Required Skills:
  • Senior management experience in major mass merchant or department store arenas, preferably with knowledge of finance, store operations, and merchandising procedures;
  • CPA/CA qualifications;
  • Proven professional experience in Finance, including accounting, payroll, G/L, tax, and risk management;
  • Strong financial analysis ability with a track record for expense control and meeting budgets;
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP and Australian financial regulatory requirements;
  • Experience attracting and surrounding yourself with high-caliber people;
  • Strong supervisory, delegation, organizational, and communication skills;
