Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow in Health Economics to join our team at Monash University.

As a Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a portfolio of nationally significant projects focused on the economics of mental health.

You will conduct applied research in health economics, particularly focused on economic evaluation, cost modelling, and the economics of mental health. This includes supporting economic analysis of healthcare utilisation, outcomes and costs using national datasets.

Key responsibilities include developing and applying algorithms for cost-effectiveness analysis, burden of disease, and health system modelling, as well as preparing high-quality manuscripts, reports, and funding proposals.

Collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, government, and health service partners is essential for success in this role.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in health economics, public health (with strong economics focus), or data science
  • Strong skills in health economic evaluation, statistical programming (R or Stata preferred), and scientific computing
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning and written communication skills
  • Experience working with health-related data and modelling methods
  • A collaborative, independent, and organised approach to research
