Senior Workplace Relations Specialist

The University of the Sunshine Coast is seeking a skilled Senior Workplace Relations Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced professional to make a meaningful contribution to the university's strategic direction.

As a key member of the People and Culture team, you will lead high-performing teams, provide strategic advice to executive leaders, and drive enterprise-wide initiatives. Your expertise in workplace relations, human resource management, and compliance will be essential in shaping the university's approach to complex employment matters.

Reporting directly to the Director, People and Culture, you will develop and implement innovative solutions that balance business needs with employee welfare. Your exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills will enable you to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, staff, and union representatives.

This role requires a deep understanding of contemporary human resource management practices, including enterprise bargaining, performance management, and conduct matters. You will possess tertiary qualifications, supported by extensive experience in senior HR leadership roles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of UniSC's workplace relations strategy
  • Providing strategic and operational advice to senior leaders
  • Representing the university in external industrial forums and negotiations
  • Overseeing conduct and compliance processes

The successful candidate will be a confident leader with a strong track record of delivering results-driven solutions. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
