Job Opportunity:

Painter

We are seeking an experienced Painter to join our team. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, mixing and applying paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings, and reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and project specifications.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and smoothing as required.
  • Mix and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and project specifications to accurately complete tasks.
  • Erect, use, and safely dismantle ladders and scaffolding to access elevated surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning and properly storing tools and equipment.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail on all painting projects.
  • Follow all occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures and site-specific guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with clients to confirm requirements and address concerns.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
  • Experience:
  • At least 12 months of relevant experience.
  • Skills:
  • Proven work experience in residential or commercial painting roles.
  • Valid drivers licence.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and finishing methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, tools, and materials related to painting.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work at heights.
