Urban Forestry Specialist

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the long-term growth, health, and resilience of our urban forest. This position involves leading the development and delivery of strategies that align with community goals for tree planting, preservation, and restoration.

  • Develop and implement strategies for tree planting, preservation, and restoration">
  • Provide expert advice, training, and mentoring to support best practice in tree planning, installation, maintenance, risk management, and protection">
  • Lead project supervision and contract management of arboriculture works/tree surgery within the public realm">
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders on tree management issues, tree value and valuation processes, implementation and monitoring of programs and systems relevant to quality tree management processes">

This role requires a strong understanding of arboriculture principles and practices, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve outcomes.

">Requirements:">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A Diploma in Arboriculture (or demonstrated equivalent)">
  • Eligibility for and willingness to obtain membership to Arboriculture Australia or International Society of Arboriculture">
  • Qualifications in QTRA, VALID, or ISA-TRAQ">
  • A Construction White Card">
  • A current unrestricted national driver's licence">

You should have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in project supervision and contract management of arboriculture works/tree surgery within the public realm, as well as interpersonal and communication skills with experience in providing technical briefs and reports to senior level stakeholders on tree management issues, tree value and valuation processes, implementation and monitoring of programs and systems relevant to quality tree management processes.

We are also open to applications from candidates with a Certificate III in Arboriculture who meet the essential qualifications and have at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in the required areas.
