Job Description:

PHE is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our national team, supporting the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll across a large workforce. This full-time role reports to the Payroll Lead and can be based in either Fortitude Valley or Gympie office. You'll play a hands-on role in processing weekly payroll, maintaining employee records, interpreting EBAs and Awards, and supporting regional teams with payroll-related queries using Employment Hero Payroll.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in payroll, ideally in a multi-site or blue-collar environment. They should possess strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder support skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll using Employment Hero.
  • Maintain accurate employee data, including contracts, timesheets, leave, and entitlements.
  • Interpret awards and EBAs to ensure correct pay outcomes.
  • Manage superannuation, PAYG, STP lodgments, and EOFY payroll reconciliations.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including TFNs, super setup, and termination pay.
  • Respond to payroll queries and support site-based and office teams.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with audits and compliance.
  • Provide support to other payroll team members and upskill where needed.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll.
  • Employment Hero Payroll (or KeyPay) experience is essential.
  • MYOB Exo and Timesheet Advantage experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation.
  • High attention to detail and confidence working with confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder support skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
