Surgical Discipline Leader

We are seeking a talented academic leader to take on the role of Professor and lead our surgical discipline.
Position Overview:This prestigious position involves providing academic leadership, fostering excellence in innovative teaching, research, and engagement within the discipline.
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching, research, and engagement.
- Drive high-quality educational programs, lead impactful research initiatives, and contribute to curriculum design and delivery.
- Mentor staff and students, supervise Higher Degree Research candidates, and participate in governance through active committee involvement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the development and implementation of strategic plans for the discipline.
- Providing expert advice on clinical subspecialty knowledge and expertise to complement current clinical services.
- Mentoring and supervising staff and students to achieve academic excellence.
- Participating in committees and leadership groups to contribute to governance and decision-making.
- Medical qualification registrable in New South Wales, specialist training in a surgical discipline, and fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent.
- Higher degree in a relevant discipline area, outstanding research record, and significant external research funding and publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
- Leadership and achievement in a managerial role in a university or similar professional or clinical setting.
- Clinical subspecialty knowledge and expertise that complements and extends current clinical services available in Surgery.
