Empowering Individuals to Manage Finances

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our collaborative team, providing high quality financial counselling services to individuals experiencing financial difficulties.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling consumers to manage their finances effectively, alleviate the impact of credit over-commitment, and provide public education on personal finance management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality financial counselling services to individuals experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Enable consumers to manage their finances effectively, alleviate the impact of credit over-commitment, and provide public education on personal finance management.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community organisations and government agencies.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Financial Counselling and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal credit and debt legislation.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged individuals and those in financial crisis.
  • Strong service delivery skills, including assessment, counselling, and advocacy.
  • Community development experience and strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a culturally appropriate way.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Accreditation (or eligibility) with the Financial Counselling Association of NSW (FCAN).
  2. Current NSW driver's license.
  3. National Criminal History Records check.
