Lead National Procurement Strategist Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven procurement professional to join our team as a National Procurement Manager. This is a high-impact executive-level role reporting directly to the CEO, offering the opportunity to shape national procurement strategy, lead a small team, and drive performance across domestic and international supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive national procurement strategy aligned with operational and commercial objectives.
  • Source high-quality steel and related materials from domestic and international suppliers, including direct negotiations with overseas mills.
  • Oversee import logistics, customs clearance, and national distribution to multiple facilities, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier networks that deliver quality, compliance, and value, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with site operation managers to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and overstocking.
  • Lead and mentor procurement and logistics personnel, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Implement effective systems and analytics to improve procurement efficiency, compliance, and reporting, enabling data-driven decision making.

Requirements:

  • Senior procurement or supply chain experience in a national manufacturing or industrial setting, with steel industry knowledge highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of steel grades, specifications, and global sourcing markets, with ability to navigate complex supply chains.
  • Proven experience with international procurement, including Incoterms, freight, and customs regulations, ensuring compliance and risk management.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation skills and a well-established network of supplier contacts, facilitating successful collaborations.
  • Ability to manage procurement across multiple sites and coordinate national logistics, streamlining operations and reducing costs.
  • Strategic mindset with operational awareness and leadership capability, driving business growth and transformation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, Oracle), with ability to adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, commerce, engineering, or similar (preferred), demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
