The Catering Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the overall well-being of residents by contributing to their dining experiences.

They help create a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and work diligently to ensure that residents receive nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in meal preparation, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Head Chef.
  • Help serve meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.
  • Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.

Prior experience in Residential Aged Care, or Health Services Sector highly desirable.
