Overview

Supply Chain Governance and Subcontracts Lead: AUKUS Build Program

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Supply Chain Governance and Subcontracts Lead to lead the development and implementation of subcontracting strategies within a high-profile Defence Programme. This role plays a pivotal part in establishing the Supply Chain function, driving governance and assurance frameworks, and delivering procurement outcomes that align with national industry objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of complex industrial projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain governance and management principles, as well as experience in developing and implementing effective subcontracting strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enhance governance and assurance frameworks for a new Supply Chain function.
  • Develop and implement subcontracting strategies aligned with programme and industrial goals.
  • Lead supplier qualification processes and manage strategic supplier relationships.
  • Drive the creation of key supply chain contractual deliverables and coordinate stakeholder inputs.
  • Develop and integrate supply chain management plans with broader programme objectives.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team of supply chain professionals.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Commerce, Business, or a related field.
  • Supply Chain certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are highly desirable.
  • 10+ years' experience in supply chain roles, ideally within Defence, Manufacturing, or similar sectors.
  • Proven expertise in supply chain governance, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with ASDEFCON framework and Defence procurement policies.
  • Skilled in supply chain systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and analytical capabilities.
  • Committed to fostering Australian industry participation and sovereign capability.

Additional Information:

  • Current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level are required. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
