Job Role Summary

The Court Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in facilitating the diversion of defendants with mental health issues from the Criminal Justice System into the community.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Collaborate with Local Court Magistrates to divert defendants with mental health concerns into the community
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals to provide expert recommendations on treatment options to magistrates
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2
  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the relevant governing body
  • Minimum five years of full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience in an acute mental health setting
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification in mental health and current NSW driver's license
