The Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Transport Mechanic to join the Qube team in Whyalla. This position will report to the Workshop Manager, with primary responsibilities including fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure and independently are essential for this role.

What We Offer

  • $52-$54 per hour, flat rate + superannuation
  • Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off
  • Residential based role in Whyalla

Key Responsibilities:

  • A commitment to Zero Harm

  • Maintenance and repair of all company vehicles according to manufacturer specifications, company policy, and relevant maintenance manuals
  • Fault diagnosis of both electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Regular servicing of the fleet and conducting preventative maintenance on vehicles

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic (Light Vehicle Mechanics will be considered)
  • Demonstrated working experience with Kenworth, Cummins, and CAT vehicles
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in heavy transport or mining environments (highly regarded)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment, with a proactive approach to task resolution to maintain high-quality work
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to make concise and compelling decisions
  • Positive attitude
