Our department of anesthesiology is looking for a skilled Cardiac Anaesthesiologist to join our team in Victoria. As part of a collegial team, you will work with residents and staff anesthesiologists to provide high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing peri-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, managing postoperative cardiac surgery patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVU), and providing anesthesia services for all cardiac cases, CVU patients, and occasional out-of-operating room patients.

Additionally, the role involves preoperative assessments of cardiac surgery patients, anesthesia consultation clinic, and care of acute pain service patients. Teaching is also an essential part of this role, with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide peri-operative care for cardiac surgery patients
  • Manage postoperative cardiac surgery patients in the CVU
  • Provide anesthesia services for all cardiac cases, CVU patients, and occasional out-of-operating room patients
  • Preoperative assessments of cardiac surgery patients
  • Anesthesia consultation clinic
  • Care of acute pain service patients
