About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Assistant- Histology Administrative Coordinator to join our passionate and engaged team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Pathologists with coordination of cases for multidisciplinary meetings, including slide retrieval and coordinating all relevant paperwork.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of tumour bank and clinical trial records and billing.
  • Coordinating bookings for Frozen sections and fine needle aspirations.
  • Coordinating the Internal Quality Assurance Program for the Pathologists.
  • Liaising with external parties with regards to slide and block requests.
  • Telephoning/ faxing of results to clinicians.
  • Maintaining Slide filing.
  • Preparation of correspondence and general administrative duties for the Pathologists.
  • Organising and executing the Internal QAP program for the pathologists.
About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency in using MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform work with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role is essential. No formal qualifications are required. A Certificate in Office Administration or similar is desirable.
  • All appointments are made subject to the applicant having documented full immunity against Hepatitis B and working rights in Australia.
