We are seeking an experienced Childcare Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Yugumbir Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service in Regents Park. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service and the management of a team of Educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality programs for children aged 5-12 years
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the service, including staffing, rostering, and compliance with policy
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community to provide a safe and supportive environment for children
  • Ensure the service meets the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' and the School's educational principles

Requirements

  • Completed (or close to completing) a relevant qualification in Childcare or Teaching (minimum - Diploma of Children's Services)
  • Sound experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications, or the willingness to obtain them
  • Current Blue Card, or the willingness to obtain one

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services care for children before school, after school, and during holidays across 50+ school sites throughout South East Queensland. We are the fastest growing OSHC provider in the South East, which in turn provides our staff with the ability to grow and move through the company as their careers head to the next level.

About Your Workplace

YMCA Yugumbir Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service is located at the Yugumbir State School in Regents Park. The service is licensed for 150 children per day and operates from 6am to 9am in the morning and 3pm to 6pm in the afternoon during school terms. We also operate during school holidays for Vacation Care (6am to 6pm).

The service has access to multi-functional rooms and playground areas offering a wide range of fun, stimulating, and diverse programs that reflect real-world experiences and home settings. This helps encourage a sense of community amongst our children, facilitates leadership skill development, and allows children to practice social skills in a supported and caring environment.

Programs and activities are aligned with the YMCA Mission – to provide opportunities for children to grow in body, mind, and spirit – underpinned by our values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility. We blend this philosophy with the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' and the School's educational principles to develop appropriate, engaging, and most of all FUN activities for your child while in our care.
