Electrical Line Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Line Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the stringing operations on a major electricity transmission project.

The project involves the construction of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate conductor stringing activities, ensuring alignment with overall project schedules and construction milestones.
  • Develop and implement safe work methods for stringing operations, in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee field execution of stringing, ensuring correct tensioning, sagging, and clearances in line with engineering specifications.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure all stringing work meets quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in Transmission line construction, with specific expertise in Stringing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Stringing methodologies, tensioning calculations, and relevant tools/software.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices for high-voltage construction environments.
  • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors and interface with multiple stakeholders.
