Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director Cyber Engagement role is responsible for leading a team that provides Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) advice to stakeholders. This includes delivering ICT risk identification, assessment and remediation advice.

The position ensures Cyber compliance is addressed by projects and solution implementation teams before undertaking a Cyber Assessment process. Maintaining the security and integrity of information and systems in OCIO and allied services/entities is crucial.

Key Duties
  • Engage with stakeholders to address Cyber risk management in solution concept/design stages.
  • Evaluate business and IT risks during project initiation/solution design phases to ensure Cyber risk management is considered.
  • Provide Cyber GRC advice at key technical forums.
  • Report on proposed technological advancements/key design decisions to support resource planning arrangements.
  • Enhance agency Cyber Security awareness/culture through positive engagement with technical/non-technical teams.
  • Lead pre-ATO analysis of requirements/design of clients' information security posture/legal/regulatory/security requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance or a related field.
  • Australian Citizenship/must undergo Security Vetting processes.
  • Knowledge of Australian Government compliance frameworks including ACSC ISM/PSPF.
Highly Desirable Criteria
  • Hold CEH/CISSP/CISA/CISM qualifications.
  • Current IRAP certification highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions/judgements under tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills/influence/drive change collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills across ICT Architectural Domains.
