Job Title: Head Of Primary School

We are seeking an experienced educator to serve as Head of Primary School, joining the Senior Leadership Team in a pivotal leadership role.

The successful candidate will provide strong, visionary leadership across the Primary School to advance the College's mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community wellbeing. This involves collaborating closely with the Primary School Leadership Team and other senior leaders to ensure the school's values and strategic goals are upheld and implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the Primary School Leadership Team to provide clear accountability and strategic direction aligned with the College's Christian ethos.
  • Oversee the recruitment, performance management, and professional development of all Primary School teaching and support staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and promote student academic progress, wellbeing, and behaviour, implementing pastoral care strategies that foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Manage and coordinate key R-6 school events such as graduation ceremonies, parent-teacher nights, sports days, and special celebrations.
  • Participate actively in the enrolment process, including interviewing prospective families to assess fit and supporting enrolment decisions.
  • Lead spiritual formation within the Primary School through devotions, chapel services, and collaboration with chaplaincy staff.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to foster transparency, collaboration, and a positive school culture.
  • Keep abreast of current educational research and best practices, particularly in literacy and numeracy, to inform curriculum and teaching strategies.
Essential Criteria:
  • A sincere and active faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated through involvement in a local church community.
  • A strong passion for Christian education, with a commitment to integrating a biblical worldview into curriculum, pedagogy, and professional relationships.
  • Registered teacher with at least five years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RHHAN-EC) certificate.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
  • Valid Teachers Registration in South Australia (SA).
Desirable Attributes:
  • At least two years of leadership experience within an educational setting.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education, leadership, or a related field, or a demonstrated commitment to ongoing postgraduate study.
  • Previous experience teaching in a Christian environment.
