As a Shift Manager at Lineage Logistics, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of our Laverton facility in Melbourne.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced retail services environment where you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing costs, and driving efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a high level of service to customers from the warehouse to delivery to store across a 24/7 retail logistics operation
  • Ensuring agreed customer service levels are met in consultation with the Customer Relationship Manager
  • Ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Monitoring and actively managing costs, driving efficiencies and reductions to maximise extraction of value against the contract requirements
  • Contributing to the senior leadership team by assisting with development of strategies and ways of operating to support consistent performance
  • Determining hourly/daily/weekly labour and equipment requirements to meet workloads in line with legal and industrial relations framework

Requirements include:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role (logistics/transport industry is preferable)
  • A background in a retail logistics environment within a distribution centre or a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • Experience and knowledge of a multi-temperature operation
  • Qualifications in Logistics Management or a business discipline, and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Coaching and mentoring skills, managing a large-sized operational team
  • Experience and knowledge with transport/route distribution is advantageous
  • A good understanding of profit and loss and other KPI's that drive storage, handling and distribution costs
  • Knowledge of labour cost control and improvement, and the relationship between labour and handling revenue
