Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our team at our Laverton North facility in Melbourne. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the site operates in a safe, compliant, profitable, and cost-efficient manner while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and manage site safety initiatives, ensuring safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Lead by example, role-modeling the company's values and behaviors, and enabling effective collaboration between teams.
- Ensure agreed customer service levels are met consistently and review operational performance to address any issues.
- Support and manage team performance, including reviewing KPIs, ensuring productivity outcomes, and inventory management.
- Ensure daily and weekly labor and resourcing requirements are met.
- Train team members to operate machinery and equipment and understand warehouse work systems.
- Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics or transport.
- Background in retail logistics or a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality, and legality issues.
- Excellent experience and knowledge of multi-temperature operations.
- Qualifications in Logistics Management or a business discipline, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong leadership skills, managing a large operational team.
- Experience and knowledge with transport/route distribution is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of profit and loss and other KPIs that drive storage, handling, and distribution costs.
- Basic knowledge of labor cost control and improvement, and the relationship between labor and handling revenue.
