About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our team at our Laverton North facility in Melbourne. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the site operates in a safe, compliant, profitable, and cost-efficient manner while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage site safety initiatives, ensuring safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Lead by example, role-modeling the company's values and behaviors, and enabling effective collaboration between teams.
  • Ensure agreed customer service levels are met consistently and review operational performance to address any issues.
  • Support and manage team performance, including reviewing KPIs, ensuring productivity outcomes, and inventory management.
  • Ensure daily and weekly labor and resourcing requirements are met.
  • Train team members to operate machinery and equipment and understand warehouse work systems.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics or transport.
  • Background in retail logistics or a fast-paced FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality, and legality issues.
  • Excellent experience and knowledge of multi-temperature operations.
  • Qualifications in Logistics Management or a business discipline, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, managing a large operational team.
  • Experience and knowledge with transport/route distribution is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of profit and loss and other KPIs that drive storage, handling, and distribution costs.
  • Basic knowledge of labor cost control and improvement, and the relationship between labor and handling revenue.
