Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Hand to become an integral part of our Sydney Catering Team in a full-time, permanent capacity.

Primary Responsibilities

This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned kitchen spaces and associated equipment. Your key tasks will encompass:

  • Efficient organization and storage of all supplies and equipment, adhering to the receipt of goods protocol and ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the Chef(s).
  • Thorough cleaning and upkeep of all designated kitchen areas, appliances, utensils, and tools, including hoods, refrigerators, and cooking stations.
  • Disposing of all waste and recyclables from the kitchen to the designated disposal area.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and operating industrial floor cleaning machinery.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with the Executive Chef and suppliers.
  • Supporting the setup and dismantling of mobile kitchen equipment and tables for events.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • A solid understanding of food service hygiene regulations.
  • Knowledge of the correct usage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Proficiency in knife and equipment handling.
  • A good general understanding of equipment operation and cleaning.
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
  • A reliable, organized nature with a proactive attitude.
