The Role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to global payroll functions and contribute to process improvement within the Payroll function. You will work closely with the Global Payroll Manager to ensure the accurate, streamlined, and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities.

As a Global Payroll Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting in the preparation and processing of end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payrolls for various regions (APAC, NAM, and Europe)
    • Collating all payroll changes on a monthly and fortnightly basis (i.e. new starters, contract variations, leavers, absence, commission, etc.)
    • Summarizing the data and submitting the payroll input to the local external payroll provider
    • Reviewing the pre-pay reports, collaborating with the external payroll provider if adjustments are needed, and then approving the reports
    • Interpreting and understanding awards, agreements, and individual contracts for all markets
    • Preparing, reconciling, and lodging superannuation, including 401(k) plans, UK pension, and retirement funds, ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation
    • On a monthly basis, preparing and lodging New Zealand PAYE and lodging payroll tax for Australia
    • Assisting with internal and external payroll queries and addressing any queries from the regional accountant
    • Managing all employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant leave policies
    • Any other ad hoc activities as required

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll management. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of recent payroll experience in a fast-paced environment and be proficient in global payroll management and collaboration with external payroll providers worldwide. Experience with ADP and Trinet payroll systems is an advantage. The successful candidate will be driven, motivated, and highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to providing excellence in customer service.
