The Role
In this role, you'll gain valuable experience in global payroll management and process improvement. Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, you'll assist in coordinating the end-to-end payroll process, liaising with external providers to ensure accurate, streamlined, and efficient processing across all Megaport international entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and processing fortnightly and monthly payrolls for various regions (APAC, NAM, and Europe)
- Collate payroll changes on a monthly and fortnightly basis (new starters, contract variations, leavers, absence, commission, etc.)
- Summarize data and submit payroll input to the local external payroll provider
- Review pre-pay reports, collaborate with the external payroll provider if adjustments are needed, and approve reports
- Interpret and understand awards, agreements, and individual contracts for all markets
- Prepare, reconcile, and lodge superannuation, including 401(k) plans, UK pension, and retirement funds, ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation
- On a monthly basis, prepare and lodge New Zealand PAYE and payroll tax for Australia
- Assist with internal and external payroll queries and address regional accountant queries
- Manage employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant leave policies
- Other ad-hoc activities as required
Requirements
We're looking for a driven, motivated, and highly organized individual with:
- At least three years of recent payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in global payroll management and collaboration with external payroll providers worldwide
- Exposure to ADP and Trinet payroll systems advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to providing excellence in customer service
