Job Description

Katherine West Health Board seeks a qualified Senior Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of the organisation.

  • Maintain the KWHB financial management information system.
  • Lead the development and refinement of financial systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage end-to-end operations of the finance team including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, allowances, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance across a diverse range of funded program activities.
  • Prepare accurate, insightful monthly reports and financial analyses.
  • Partner with program managers to connect operational activity to financial performance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and track program-level expenditure.
  • Oversee end-of-year audits and financial preparation for the AGM.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in finance and accounting, with 5+ years of experience in financial management and proven team leadership.

A background in not-for-profit or NGO environments is highly desirable, as is CA or CPA accreditation.

The successful candidate will also possess:

  • Excellent communication skills - able to translate numbers into operational insight.
  • Experience leading system/process improvement and rolling out new platforms.
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
