We are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Operations Specialist to join our team in Port Campbell, working along the iconic Great Ocean Road region.

About Our Team

The Coastal Operations Team is responsible for delivering maintenance, environmental, facility and capital works to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all coastal users in the Great Ocean Road region.

They manage critical coastal and visitor infrastructure from Point Impossible to Marengo.

Purpose of the Position

This position involves the maintenance of foreshore areas under our management, including:

  • Undertaking construction, repairs and landscaping projects
  • Facilities, equipment and grounds maintenance and cleaning
  • Liaison with community, contractors and event organizers
  • Operation of plant and machinery
Main Responsibilities

The Coastal Operations Specialist is accountable for completing day-to-day works operations and other activities on foreshore coastal reserves as part of a small team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • General site maintenance, litter control and cleaning
  • Grounds keeping, mowing, grass cutting, trimming and pruning works
  • Undertaking construction, repairs and landscaping projects
  • Maintenance of machinery
  • Weed control, fencing, tree planting and minor landscaping
  • Track and path works
  • Operation of plant and machinery
  • Cleaning and presentation of amenities, piers and boat ramp facilities
  • Assisting with implementation of small projects and other works on the foreshore and caravan parks
Qualifications & Experience

Requirements include:

  • A trade, certificate or diploma relevant to coastal operations
  • Demonstrated experience in trade, land management, facilities and grounds maintenance or other relevant work
  • A current manual drivers licence
  • First Aid certification
  • A White Card
  • A chainsaw qualification
