Support Worker Job Description

This role involves working with individuals who require support to live a fulfilling life.

  • We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team, providing personal care and domestic duties for our Participants.

Key Responsibilities:

- Personal Care: Assist with dressing, toileting, showering, and continence support
- Domestic Duties: Provide meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and cleaning services
- Medication Assistance: Help Participants manage their medication
- High-Intensity Support Activities: Engage in activities that promote social interaction and community inclusion
- Insulin Administration: Administer insulin as required
- Bowel and Continence Support: Assist Participants with bowel and continence management
- Behaviour Support: Provide support for Participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Epilepsy, and Schizophrenia

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities is highly desirable
- Experience working with non-verbal, ASD, and schizophrenia clients is an advantage
- Relevant nationally recognised qualification is highly desirable
- Must have a valid driver's license and own reliable transport
- Blue card (P) or willing to obtain before employment
- NDIS Worker Clearance/ Yellow (P) or willing to obtain before employment
- Current First Aid & CPR certification or willing to obtain before employment
- NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module or willing to obtain before employment
- COVID 19 Infection Control certificate or willing to obtain before employment
- Full Australian working rights
- Smartphone with internet access
