Solar Energy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled solar energy specialist to join our team in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design, review, and analysis of renewable energy projects, working closely with other specialists in solar and other renewable energy technologies.

  • Technical due diligence of pre-construction and operational solar projects.
  • Specification assistance for all aspects of solar farm construction.
  • Owners, Lenders, and Independent Engineer scopes of work.
  • Inspection services for solar projects.
  • Design support and feasibility studies for solar projects.
  • Assist clients with procurement including contract negotiation and tendering.
  • Other ad-hoc advice

The role involves liaising with clients, completing performance reviews, managing multiple projects, and producing written reports. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, 5 years of professional experience, and the right to live and work in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of our Solar Project Engineering and Due Diligence team.
  • Deliver solar-related services supporting the provision of technical advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with other specialists in solar and renewable energy technologies.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in solar or renewable energy or other relevant discipline.
  • 5 years professional experience.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to cope with a wide variety of tasks.

Previous experience in any/all of the following will be considered favourably:

  • Technical due diligence of solar farms for project financing.
  • Solar plant design and layouts (ideally using PVCase or similar).
  • Solar resource and energy assessments (including use of PV Syst).

The role will involve on-the-job training as well as other training internally or externally. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
