OVAHS delivers culturally appropriate and holistic primary health services and is committed to enhancing access to healthcare, empowering individuals, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment where community members are respected and supported.
As part of a growing and dynamic organisation, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference and contribute to positive, long-term change in the community.
About the Opportunity
The Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and community-focused NDIS Community Connector Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Kununurra, WA on a full-time basis.
Are you committed to improving access, choice, and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living with disability? This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic, culturally safe program that helps individuals, families, and communities better understand and connect with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
As the Community Connector Coordinator, you will support people with disability, their families, and carers to navigate the NDIS, build confidence, and access the services they need. You’ll work closely with individuals and community groups, provide information and guidance, and coordinate engagement activities that strengthen awareness and understanding of the NDIS across the East Kimberley region.
Your work will be grounded in cultural safety, respect, and community connection—helping to create real pathways for people with disability to achieve their goals and live strong, healthy lives.
OVAHS is committed to improving employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply for this position.
Note: OVAHS reserves the right to close the vacancy early if a suitable candidate is identified.

You are a compassionate and community-minded professional with a strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. With experience in disability services, community engagement, or case coordination, you are passionate about empowering people to access the supports they are entitled to.
Your ability to connect with people, build trust, and engage respectfully with individuals, families, and community groups sets you apart. You are confident in sharing information in a clear and culturally appropriate way, and you thrive in a collaborative, community-based environment.

- Experience in disability support, case management, Aboriginal health, or community services.
- Knowledge of the NDIS or a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and community engagement skills.
- A relevant qualification in community services, disability, or social work (desirable).
- Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or remote settings (highly regarded).
While supported by a strong and dedicated team at OVAHS, this role requires resilience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to empowering communities to access the services and supports they deserve.
