Overview

At UTS College, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. As the pathway to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) - one of Australia’s leading universities - we’re committed to helping students actualise their potential through innovative learning experiences, supportive environments, and passionate people.

We’ve embraced an Integrated Learning Model that blends live (synchronous) and independent (asynchronous) learning, preparing students to become confident, connected learners - ready for UTS and beyond.

We’re now looking for a Learning Design Specialist to join our collaborative team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. If you’re passionate about designing engaging, student-centred learning experiences and have a deep understanding of teaching & learning pedagogy, great interpersonal skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

- Develop learning objectives, course structures, assessments, and activities that are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with program goals.
- Align learning design with UTS College’s Integrated Learning Model and sector regulations (e.g. HESF, AQF), ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Create authentic, secure assessments with clear grading criteria and feedback mechanisms, while addressing challenges like GenAI risk mitigation.
- Use learning analytics and feedback to refine curriculum and enhance learning outcomes through regular reviews and benchmarking.
- Integrate digital tools and multimedia to enrich learning experiences and support teachers in adopting new technologies.
- Facilitate professional learning, share research insights, and provide 1:1 support to enhance teaching practices and collaboration.
- Collaborate with teachers to design support materials that strengthen academic language, literacy, and overall student engagement.
