Maroba is a dynamic Christ-focused organisation providing a range of accommodation, care, and wellness services to people within our community. Based in Waratah (Newcastle), accommodation choices range from independent living at our Maroba Terrace units through to full care (including dementia, Alzheimer’s and palliative care).

We are seeking a Spiritual Care Coordinator for two days per week on a fixed-term contract until the 30th of June 2025. The Spiritual Care Coordinator will be responsible for:

1. Leading and supporting the Spiritual Care team to provide quality spiritual care centred on the individual resident needs and outcomes.
2. Ensuring Spiritual Care recognises and respects the resident choices and preferences in the context of holistic care and connections to Community.
3. Providing Spiritual Care resources adequate to meet the identified spiritual needs of the residents, their families and the Maroba team.
4. Ensuring residents are supported to prepare for end of life by reflecting their life, contribution, worth and legacy.
5. Developing, delivering and leading innovative approaches to spirituality including activities, church services, devotions, memorial services, rituals and celebrations.

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate a high level of spiritual commitment and genuine heart for people, together with:

1. Relevant Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy or Ministry qualifications.
2. Experience in Pastoral ministry and/or Chaplaincy.
3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating the delivery of spiritual care support and approaches to people from broad backgrounds.
4. Strong ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
5. High level communication skills, interpersonal, written and oral with an ability to develop rapport quickly with people from diverse backgrounds.
6. Experience in working with elderly communities; ideally, with previous or current health or aged care experience.
