Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.
The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a Secondary English Teacher to teach Junior and/or Senior English. This role commences in January 2026 and is offered on a fixed term until the end of Term 3, 2026 (Parental Leave Replacement) at an FTE of 0.6, with the possibility of additional classes or responsibilities for candidates seeking a larger load.
We are looking for a teacher who loves engaging young people in the study of literature and language, can bring creativity and clarity to the classroom, and is committed to fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a genuine enjoyment of English.
You’ll join a staff team that cares deeply about the formation of students and who are learners themselves – people committed to professional growth and to the good of every student in their care. The successful applicant must:
- Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Be able to teach English
- Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
- Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
