What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Squad Lead, you’ll be involved in delivering a new global project building a new consumer portal product in both the UK and Australia.

You’ll be involved in:

- Delivery of a greenfield global consumer portal product built using .NET through agile development processes

- Aggregate new and existing APIs behind a unified API gateway (e.g., Cloudflare / AWS API Gateway).

- Translating product requirements into technical implementation steps

- Performing hands‑on development work, documentation, testing and deployment

- Coaching and mentoring junior developers

- Troubleshooting incidents and participating in RCA processes

In this capacity, your responsibilities will include:

- Contribute directly to development and ongoing maintenance of products & services, including implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and responding to incidents

- Participate in the code review process as a means of building knowledge within the development team and improving overall code quality

- Participate in and ensure effectiveness of Agile development processes; contribute to continuous improvement

- Conduct technical investigations and scoping

- Contribute to technical decision making

- Participate in incident management, helping to ensure timely resolution, regular communication with stakeholders, quality reporting, and effective root‑cause analysis

- Provide mentoring to junior/intermediate team members and support their technical and personal development

- Conduct analysis of technical requirements, research and estimation of development effort

- Identify performance, maintainability, internal efficiency and cost‑optimisation improvements

- Maintain a thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge of technologies available

Who we're looking for

- 7+ years commercial experience with C# NET

- Excellent communication skills

- Demonstrable understanding of SOLID design principles

- Knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases

- Strong understanding of web APIs and REST best practices

- Exposure to public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and familiarity with IaC tooling such as Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK

- Deep understanding of modern software design practices

- Strong technical skills, both functional and non‑functional, manual and automation

- Experience with the Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira) and GitHub

- Ability to keep up with development trends and identify practical uses for new technologies

- Ability to leverage existing documentation and team knowledge of tech stack to implement changes appropriately

- Able to work methodically to tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks with meticulous attention to detail

- Ability to communicate technical information to a non‑technical audience

- Mature and professional; self‑motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and assertive

Desirable experience includes:

Experience in B2B or CRM product development within the real estate, energy or utilities industries and experience working with distributed teams including offshore resources

As a Senior Developer we expect your success and impact in the early stages of your career with us to look something like this:

Within 1 month:

- You will be making a positive contribution on smaller work items to introduce you to the technology stack

- You will participate in planning and estimation sessions, technical scoping exercises, and code reviews from day one,to help understand both the domain and the code, and provide your own feedback from your prior experience

Within 3 months:

- You will feel comfortable with the basics of the domain and Reapit’s products & services

- You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the core areas of the technology stack

- You will be independently contributing new ideas to product and processes

- You will be closely involved in incident response processes

- You will be mentoring engineers and actively improving the team’s software design & code quality

Within 6 months:

- You will be able to work independently due to your continually growing understanding of our products and solutions

- Your contributions will be helping to shape the backlog and future direction of the products

- You will be taking ownership of complex projects to run with a high level of autonomy

- You will be participating in technical planning and design conversations

- You will be helping to ensure quality and use of best practices within the team, from requirements gathering & analysis, through solutions design, documentation, implementation, and testing

We operate a Flexible Working Policy and we would like for you to work from our office location at least 2 days per week.
