As a team member, you will play a pivotal role in working with our business and helping to support and provide engineering services to the digital platform. Your team is part of the Technology division, a team that are truly collaborative and passionate, and work closely together to deliver outcomes that positively transform the way our customers use our services. **About the Opportunity** The Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless cloud infrastructure that supports our business's goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, system architecture, and troubleshooting, with a focus on delivering scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments.* **Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment:** design, implement, and managing secure, scalable cloud environments (AWS, Azure), using automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.* **Governance & Continuity Planning:** Implement cloud security best practices to ensure compliance and data protection. Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage cost-efficiency. Design disaster recovery and backup strategies, and recommend improvements based on emerging cloud technologies.* **Collaboration & Support:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, operations, security) to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems. Provide technical support for cloud-related issues.* **Documentation & Reporting:** Maintain documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and processes. Provide regular status reports to management on infrastructure performance and initiativesAbility and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours roster to support technology changes, as required**.****About You**You are dedicated to ensuring data security and privacy, proactively identifying and mitigating risks in your work. You collaborate effectively to prevent fraud and corruption, adhering to policies and promoting a culture of integrity. Your focus is on continuous improvement and security in all aspects of your role.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will ensure compliance with privacy and data security requirements, work to mitigate fraud and corruption risks, and implement preventive measures. Your role will involve collaborating with teams, reporting issues, and promoting ethical behaviour and security best practices.Technical CapabilitiesYou bring hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cloud infrastructure, automation tools, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell). You have expertise in cloud networking, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and security, ensuring cloud environments are optimized and secure.
