Qualitative Consultant
If you’re energised by research that drives real change - influencing policy, improving services, and strengthening communities - this is the kind of work you’ll want to be part of. You’ll join a consultancy trusted by government and social sector clients to explore issues that truly matter; gender equality, community safety, First Nations engagement, public health, and our shared environment.
The work you’ll do
This is hands‑on, end‑to‑end qualitative research. You’ll design studies, moderate groups and depths (often face‑to‑face), and turn conversations into clear, powerful insight stories. Projects range from communications testing and program evaluation to attitudinal and behavioural research that gets to the heart of how Australians think, feel, and act. Expect to collaborate closely with sharp colleagues in fast‑paced analysis sessions where ideas fly and insights emerge quickly. Deliverables are polished - visually engaging decks and tight, story‑led reports that get read and acted on.
What sets this team apart
This is a smart, high‑performing group who genuinely care about quality and integrity. They’re also human. Given the nature of their topics, they regularly debrief and support one another - it’s a team that’s got your back.
You’ll be joining a 15‑person qualitative team within a broader insights and evaluation business of 70+ researchers. The culture is collaborative, inclusive, and anchored by shared values. People join and stay not because they must, but because the work matters.
Who this role suits
- A Qualitative Researcher with around 2–5 years’ experience (agency or consultancy background).
- Someone who’s confident moderating and enjoys unpacking complex human stories.
- A clear communicator who can distil findings into simple, sharp narratives.
- Resilient, adaptable, and ready to work at pace on challenging, meaningful topics.
Why you’ll love it here
- Impactful work: contribute to projects that inform policy, drive social change, and improve public outcomes.
- Supportive structure: a dedicated project coordination team frees you to focus on the thinking.
- Collaborative environment: dynamic workshops, idea-sharing, and collective storytelling are the norm.
- Professional growth: backed by strong training, mentorship, and company‑wide development programs.
- Modern workspace: purpose‑built Collingwood offices designed for collaboration and creativity, with sensible flexibility when you need it.
If you’re a bright, grounded researcher who loves the craft of qualitative insight and wants your work to matter, I’d love to hear from you. To apply please send your CV to rhaylett@resourcesgroup.com
