Seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex projects in mining infrastructure.

Job Overview

Wave International has solidified our reputation as a leading engineering consultancy, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in engineering, project delivery, and asset management across Australia and globally.

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to deliver civil projects within our East Coast business unit. The successful candidate will bring 8-15 years of experience within the mineral resources and mining non-process infrastructure sectors, whilst candidates with similarly aligned skills in roadworks and drainage design will be considered.

Possessing a high level of expertise and technical experience along with the ability to provide strategic direction across a diverse portfolio of projects is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and verification of civil engineering solutions, including detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for mineral resources and mining non-process infrastructure.
- Focus on ensuring robust design solutions and verifying their integrity, while contributing to high-quality technical documentation.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, representing Wave International in project meetings and site inspections.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes on time and within budget.

Key Skills and Experience

- 8-15 years of civil engineering experience, with a strong background focused on mining or resources is advantageous.
- Technical expertise in civil engineering design principles, including proficiency in design software and design verification processes specific to the resource sector.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical documentation, such as detailed engineering reports and specifications, with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing clients, contractors, and internal multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Familiarity with Australian mining regulations and standards (e.g., QLD Coal Mining Safety and Health Act).
- RPEQ Certification advantageous but not mandatory.
