The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in The Central West.

From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords… whateveryou love, you can share it with someone who loves it too. As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for an older person living in your community.

HammondCare At Home help people across the Central West area, including Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon, Cowra and Blayney, so we’ll work to match you with someone with similar interests in your local community.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.

HammondCare

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer VisitorScheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote linksbetween elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

- 18 years or older

- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
