Job Description

As a HammondCare Biography Writing or Editing volunteer in Bathurst your listening and writing skills will allow HammondCare community clients to record their stories, memories, and messages for loved ones.

Join our Life stories program and spend 6–8 weeks visiting a remarkable elderly client with a rich past. Your time will help turn our clients' memories into a lasting gift for their family.

Help Capture a Life Well Lived, One Story at a Time

Ideally, you'll have the following skills

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word

- 50 words per minute typing skills

- Ability to work independently and problem solve

- Own car to drive to the home of the Client

- Willingness to learn new technology and software. You will be using a Dictaphone and a transcription software program

- Availability for a long term commitment and up-to 5 hours per week.

The transcription and editing process can occur in the evenings, while the face-to-face interview will occuron aweekday (Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm)for one hour.

Requirements

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

One hour face-to-face interview Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm and transcription can occur during the evenings or weekends.
