Role details

We are a mixed animal practice in Bakers Hill, WA, a picturesque area in the Avon Valley, located about a 40 minute drive from Perth. We are a small country practice seeking to add a new veterinarian. Hours are negotiable and there is no out-of-hours on-call or Sundays to be worked. You will enjoy a great deal of autonomy and input.

Practice details

We are a mixed animal practice with a 90% small, 10% large mix. Our clients are friendly, loyal and appreciative, which adds to the level of job satisfaction. We pride ourselves on the gold standard service that we offer our clients, especially in anesthetics and dental work. We have a state-of-the-art dental machine, in-house lab and x-ray facilities and a very strong and talented nurse team.

Responsibilities and expectations

- Provide veterinary care as a confident, warm, and caring veterinarian, with the ability to work independently as sole charge (preferred).
- Communicate effectively with clients and team; be personable and capable in the consult room; willing to go the extra mile for clients and patients.
- Contribute to surgical and diagnostic tasks; general surgical competence and a can-do attitude are required, with recognition of personal limits.
- Collaborate with the team and adapt to either mixed or small animal practice with a love for country work.

Qualifications

- Qualified veterinarian with experience preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as sole charge is preferred but not mandatory.
