About Us
The Dogs' Refuge Home has been saving and rehoming dogs in WA since 1935. Our on-site veterinary clinic will provide dedicated care for rescue dogs only, giving every dog the best chance at a healthy, happy life. Thanks to some very generous donors, we have recently been able to completely renovate our clinic area and purchase brand-new equipment. Aligning with our training philosophy, our clinic will use fear free methods to prioritise the emotional well-being of pets by using techniques to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress during visits, avoiding force for examinations or treatments. The clinic will service our rescue dogs and those who have been adopted returning for procedures covered by the Dogs' Home. This is not a public clinic.
About the Role
We are seeking caring and committed veterinarians to join our team in supporting the health and wellbeing of our rescue dogs. You will work alongside a passionate team of vets, nurses, and behaviour staff in a purpose-built facility, with the opportunity to make a direct difference every single day. This is a unique opportunity to work only with rescue dogs in our care, and those adopted as puppies coming back for sterilisation at an appropriate age. You will have the benefit of no private paying clients.

Key responsibilities:
- Providing veterinary examinations, treatments, and surgery for shelter dogs
- Supporting desexing, vaccinations, diagnostics, and urgent medical care
- Working collaboratively with a dedicated rescue team to create tailored treatment plans
- Contributing to our mission of giving dogs a second chance at life
About You
- A qualified veterinarian registered with the Veterinary Practice Board of WA
- Passionate about animal welfare and rescue work
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, varied caseload environment
- A true dog lover, committed to positive and compassionate care
- Team-oriented, flexible, and proactive
- Force Free certification preferred, or willing to complete
